A few tales for you before we get to our action packed newsletter!

I was out buying cigars the other day (yeah, something new you learn about me everyday – lol)…and was delighted when the man behind the counter had the following conversation with me:

“Is this for you or for a gift?”

“It’s for me…for a party I am attending.”

“Do you regularly smoke cigars or cigarettes?”

“Not cigarettes…but a few cigars or so a month, yes.”

“What are your favorite brands that you like?”

At this point he must have seen the question mark look on my face at his line of questioning when he said…

“Due to increased sales, I have decided to expand our cigar section and am asking our customers what they want us to carry.”

Did you catch that? What THEY want us to carry…not what we want to carry…not what we like…not what we think is best…but what OUR CUSTOMERS want.

Brilliant.

Thank you for your newsletters. I had given up for awhile on trying to raise the DSRs. Now, thanks to your newsletter encouragement, all of my 30 day DSRs are at 4.90 or higher. Most months I have now received the 15% discount. To help increase the DSRs I included a long letter explaining the DSRs and information on shipping costs, descriptions, speed of shipping and communication. It sure seems to be working.. It might be fun to have a newsletter with just sample letters or ideas from some letters to share with others. Again thank you for your newsletters. They do make a difference.

Wordle – The new header you see is a Wordle – I love this site. Can you imagine how many amazing ways you could use this? This would grab someone’s attention in your listings, create a cool logo for a website, ooooohhhhh – be awesome on the front of a postcard. I showed it to one of my friends and she already has it up on her website – check it out: www.WineLass.com
Blink Web – lots of sites promise free website creation that is easy…yeah, not so much. This is the first one I have come across that actually is SO easy. You can create websites, sales letters, blogs, and even sell things on these websites. All you are doing is dragging and dropping – i.e. I pick ‘testimonial’ from the left column menu and drop it onto my sales letter page. I type the testimonial in the box and TaDa…it’s done. This one blew me away this week.
Slydial – I am sure there are practical business uses for this, but so many other cool ways you could use this tool too. Sly Dial allows you to dial a number and not have anyone know – lol. You will go straight to their voicemail…it won’t ring at all on their end, except to notify them a few minutes later that they have a voice message. Perfect for the friend who talks too much, or the salesperson who always sells you more than what you really want, or for your co-worker you forgot to tell something to, but it’s 3am and you don’t want to wake them.
Information Sells – This is an incredible blog that I have known about for a while, but recently added to my iGoogle RSS reader because the author is blowing me away with the incredible content she is providing to people (and for free!). Recent articles include:

How To Build A Web Site For Your Business – Parts 1 and 2 – where she walks you through step-by-step the how to’s of building a website as well as the cool tools that will come in handy.
You Tube Offers Free Soundtrack Music – where to find free music for your YouTube videos. This would also work for the Yodio service we recently mentioned. I truly loved this tip as it takes me forever to find ‘truly’ free music on the internet that I can use in my videos. (She even has a short video of ‘how to’ use it – wow!
Is It A Benefit Or A Feature? – this article I love – and you should all commit it to memory!
7 Ways To Find Out What the World Wants – for those of you who always struggle with the ‘what to sell’ question, this is a MUST READ!

Wow – ok, so I guess we are on the right track…you definitely want Digital Downloads. And what our readers want, they get! You replied that you were thrilled at, not only how easy they were to purchase and download, but the incredible amount of information we pack into each class. WooHoo!
