I’ve always loved garage sales and finding bargains. Thanks for bringing this advice to light as there are many resources you mentioned that I wasn’t aware of. You’ve taught an “old” dog new tricks in the area of garage sale finds.
Tim,
Friday I listened to your Home Run Secrets that your suggested. I mapped out my course. I had to be done by 11:00 A.M. because or another appointment. I was out by 7:30 but the one I was reall interested in did not open until 9:00. I got ther about 9:30. Family members running a private estate sale for a deseased aunt.
I really went inside with the attitude that I did not want to buy anything. In one bedroom I saw about 36 carasels of slides. I thought about offering $1.00 per canaster but I really didn’t want to pay $36.00. I ask one of the gals incharge and she defered me to another relative. She came back and said I cauld have all the canaster in the bedroom for $20.00. As it turned out there were 75 canasters. That got my attention. When I got home I counted my inventory. I now owned over 10,000 slides. In other words I got 500 slides/$1.00.
I have been reading about how you can make money takeing pictures and uploading them to host sites. You make a commission when they sell. I guess this is like selling clip art. Do you know if there really is an honest business out on the Internet that runs a ligimite businss like this. If I can’t find one I’m only out $20.00. Any advice on this. If there are lagitamate companies out there I could turne this into a home run at a World Series.
Thanks,
Merrill
