We have not one but TWO huge news stories today – wow! One of them was given as an exclusive during the Seth Godin interview yesterday by the marketing genius himself. The Squidoo-eBay 10 Day Challenge is about to begin!

eBay sellers have been exploring how to use Squidoo to showcase their eBay stores, their best selling items, and their eBay business in general as a way of driving more off-eBay traffic to their listings. Creating a Squidoo lens for your eBay store is like building a second front door to your business. If 1 lens can do that – think what 10 can do for you!
Your Task: Make 1 lens a day, spotlighting just 1 item or theme of items you have for sale, for 10 days.
The challenge runs from June 4th through June 17th (We’ll give you the weekends off!)

I just did a sporadic check of some of YOUR domains – and you definitely need to read this! There are still quite a few of you who either don’t have outside domains or haven’t purchased your misspellings. If you don’t, then your competitor will. I learned the hard way…when I purchased www.JanelleElms.com I didn’t even think about the other URL’s I should own – like www.Janellelms.com (without the ‘e’). Why would I think about it – Janelle Elms is unique. Well a company out of California who specializes in ‘cybersquatting’ immediately saw the potential of a redirect off of this popular search name. Dang. I don’t even want to think about how much business I have lost out on by not knowing about buying additional domains at that time. Under the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act of 1999, US victims can sue in federal court for both the domain name and monetary damages. However…the cost to fight it usually far outweighs the return. It costs $1200 JUST to file for domain name arbitration – not to mention the lawyer fees. It would be cheap insurance to just pay $6.95 a year to protect your valuable business investment, don’t you think? Microsoft just went after some of their cybersquatters and have so far recovered over $1.1 million in illegal redirects from over 2000 infringing websites – eeks! EVEN if you don’t do anything with it, at least buy it now so someone else can’t.
